Dog Owners Share The Heartwarming Stories Behind Their Doggos' Cutest Quirks

Hey, friends! If you are a doggo owner, you know how adorably strange and unique our beloved canine companions can be. Today we are shining our fabulous Animal Comedy spotlight on a thread in which doggo lovers gathered to discuss the heartwarming stories behind their dogs' silliest personal preferences and quirks. The results were hysterical and utterly adorable. We are still swooning from all of this wholesome doggo goodness! 

Dogs are totally unique and their own individual beings, which simply contributes to the uniqueness of their cute quirks. These four-legged characters never stop entertaining their human companions with their silly antics, and we would not have it any other way. We celebrate the silliness of our canine pals, and are smitten by their adorability and cuteness. Some dogs' quirks are triggered by certain words or actions, like one commenter on this thread who says "Ours is a submissive smiler. So when she gets excited her whole body starts wiggling and she starts smiling at us. It's the most adorable thing."

    I think it's so cute when I ask my dog if she wants to go for a walk and she goes over to her bowl for a drink of water before we head out. It's adorable how aware she is that she should have a little sip before heading out the door lol. Does your dog do this or what cute quirks do they have that you find adorable?

    Kouunno • 5d ago I work from home and sometimes I'm too busy to immediately pet my girl when she wants my attention. She will just lay her head in my lap until my hands are free and it's so precious. Sometimes I have to try to pet her with my elbow or something cause I feel bad when she's looking up at me with those puppy eyes

    TheKbug 5d ago We've taught our new puppy "trade it" for when she takes something she's not supposed to have. We'll usually give her one of her toys as a trade. I was folding laundry, and she really wanted my son's shirt that I had just folded and placed in the basket. I shooed her away, but she returned a moment later. This time she deposited one of her toys in the basket and then took the shirt in trade. I couldn't even be mad about it.

    ShakeltUpNow • 5d ago When mine hears the dryer door slam closed, he listens to see if I then start the dryer. The reasoning being I've just placed a new batch in, or restarted if stuff isn't dry. If it doesn't start back up, he knows I'm about to throw a load of warm clean clothes on the bed to fold and he's got to be in on that action. Completely ignores it otherwise.

    jaibie83 5d ago Mine will tap the back door with his paw when he wants to go outside. If I don't notice, he will come over to me and get my attention, make eye contact, then continue to keep eye contact as he goes back over and taps the door again.

    Diablo3sux 5d ago I keep my dog's ball in a drawer (she loves fetch). She's very impatient when she wants to go out. But she'll sit by the drawer and look at me to take the ball out. Even if I didn't anticipate playing fetch, how can I say no

    digital_mina 5d ago My big pittie gets so excited when i get home from school that he has to go and find a "baby" (stuffed toy) to give me and if he can't after searching around, he'll come up to me and push me to help find one! It's always "Bruno where's your baby? Go get the baby! Bruno find your baby!" and he gets so happy! He's 14 and still excited as ever!

    PeoniesNLilacs • 5d ago Our St Bernard mix always goes to look out the window first. I think he's just scanning the yard to see what he should anticipate before going out. If there's a squirrel in the yard or anything that may be out of place like fallen leaves etc. I give him a few seconds. Call him again and he comes ready to put the harness on.

    flux-and-flow • 5d ago One of my pups, Oliver, ALWAYS has to have a toy in his mouth when he goes out to potty when I get home from work. Only at that time, and if he doesn't have one nearby will run around the house until he finds one to take outside with him to hold in his mouth while he pees

I joke that she's 'paying the toll' with her toy when she gives it to me, but really I think it's because she was able to sneak an indoor toy outside once, which was the absolute best thing Iever to her. I still don't know where she hid her stuffed popcorn toy to this day, and at this point it's probably for the best.
